This course gives explanation on how analysis (functions, ODEs, PPEs …) in finite dimensions leads to analysis in the space of probability measures as the dimension grows to infinity.Schedule:
AM (10am-12pm): Oct 26 (Mon), 28 (Wed), 30 (Fri) and Nov 2 (Mon);
PM (2pm-4pm): Nov 3 (Tue)
Professor Lions is a leading expert in nonlinear partial differential equations and Chair of Partial Differential Equations and Applications at the Collège de France. Awarded the Fields Medal in 1994, he has made seminal contributions to the Boltzmann and Navier-Stokes equations, viscosity solutions, concentration compactness, and mean field games. He is a Commandeur of the Legion of Honor, an ISI highly cited researcher, and a member of the French Academy of Sciences alongside numerous international academies.
