香港城市大学（城大）高等研究院于7月举办了「基因、细胞及数学扩展研讨会」，广邀多位来自不同领域的知名学者到城大，就数学、电脑科学、细胞生物学、人类蛋白质体学和人类遗传学跨学科研究进行为期一个月的深入交流。
