HKIAS Hosted a Visit by World-Renowned Mathematician, Professor Shing-Tung Yau

A world-renowned mathematician, Professor Shing-Tung Yau, Director of the Yau Mathematical Sciences Center at Tsinghua University, visited HKIAS, CityU on April 25.

Professor Xun-li Wang, Executive Director of HKIAS, Professor Ya Yan Lu, Head of Department of Mathematics, and Professor Robert Li, Associate Dean of Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies met with Professor Yau for a tour of HKIAS and had fruitful discussions on future collaborations.

Professor Yau was awarded the Fields Medal in 1982 and the National Medal of Science (U.S.) in 1997. He was elected to the National Academy of Sciences (U.S.) in 1993.
