探討基因、細胞與數學的關係

香港城市大學(城大)高等研究院於7月舉辦了「基因、細胞及數學擴展研討會」,廣邀多位來自不同領域的知名學者到城大,就數學、電腦科學、細胞生物學、人類蛋白質體學和人類遺傳學跨學科研究進行為期一個月的深入交流。
是次擴展研討會由城大高等研究院資深院士及菲爾茲獎及沃爾夫數學獎得主
Stephen Smale教授領導,與美國密歇根大學Indika Rajapakse教授合辦。今年的擴展研討會是2016年「基因與染色體研討會」的延續,目的是繼續匯聚國際專家就基因組排列研究交換意見,深入了解基因功能、疾病以及染色體的相互作用及與數學的關係。
擴展研討會有10個討論環節,共18場講座,吸引了跨學科人士的興趣,接近400名學者及學生參與。其中對基因、細胞與數學的最新趨勢和發展展出深入探討,演講題目包括 (只有英文版本):
