由香港城市大學、上海理工大學、浙江大學的專家組成的研究團隊探索納米孿晶的變形行為，首次揭示奧氏體不鏽鋼中多尺度納米孿晶的變形轉變，有助研發更高強度和延展性的材料。香港高等研究院資深院士呂堅教授及其團隊，透過原位拉伸試驗，配合理論模型及分子動力學模擬，發現奧氏體不鏽鋼的納米孿晶變形轉變機制的臨界尺度。

Professor Tai-Wei Kuo, HKIAS Visiting Fellow, has been elected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) for the 2018 class.
